Don’t take our word for it…well, maybe do as it IS a podcast after all, but don’t forget to listen to the episode to pick up some good tips we don’t list here.

This butcher block cart folds flat when not in use and doesn’t require any tools. 10-second setup and provides loads of extra prep space.
Dan LOVES his Jet Boil. It’s perfect for hiking, biking, fishing, tent camping – you name it! Plus, there’s a lot of accompanying accessories.
Part grill, part griddle and ALL awesome, this portable duo will take camp cooking to the next level.
It’s like the perfect suitcase, if the perfect suitcase could also prepare you the perfect steak.
For those just getting into cast iron cooking, this is the one we recommend, and may be the only set you ever need.
Quickly make your own pizza pockets, grilled cheese and pies with this handy campground favorite. The only limit is your imagination.
Healthier frying that folds out of the way when not in use? It’s every RVers dream, right?
At the risk of sounding way too fancy, I would die if it didn’t have this Keurig. (well, perhaps I exaggerate, or maybe not)
This device has saved all the necks in our family for long road trips. Easy to install and use. It’s a winner in our family.
Melina is SUPER allergic to mosquito bites, and she says “just do yourself a favour and get it” so there you go.
When you have thyroid issues and are always cold this is a lifesaver. That’s all we will say about that.
If you’ve every used a poker stick and had your entire fire collapse on itself and go out, this is for you.
Listen to the podcast to find out why this one is important (especially with 3 women in the trailer)
We have used this removable film to dim the display screens of the alarm clock, water heater and pump light switch and the radio in the trailer.
Anything that prevents someone from smacking their head on the awning bar is a good thing.
Super helpful charger for boondocking, hiking, or power outages, it will charge multiple devices.
Melin is upgrading her corded unit to one of these beauties and is super happy about that.
Packable, lightweight and easy to hang, these comfortable hammocks are also light on the wallet.
Take it from Dan who is the Goldilocks of chairs (and a professional napper), these zero-gravity babies are worth it.
Perfect for all ages this campground classic is a good game to structure a family tournament around.
After all, if you’re outside anyway, you might as well look up and marvel at God’s wonder, right?
We can’t ay enough about this game. Perfect for a whole evening of fun while keeping everyone entertained.
Another fast dice game, and easy for even the little ones to pick up (if they know left from right). A crowd pleaser.
We have played this game a lot during COVID with family over Zoom and there’s a reason it’s stood the test of time.
Drill bit for Scissor Jacks
Most stabilizing jacks are 3/4″, however make sure to measure yours to ensure you get the correct size. Being able to use a drill to lower the jacks is a great way to get the kids involved in camp setup.
Retractable Laundry Line
As mentioned on the show, we didn’t think we’d use this laundry line after we stopped tent-camping, but since our RV doesn’t have a ladder on the back (for a ladder-mounted clothes rack) this has proven to STILL be the perfect addition to our gear.
Mystical Fire
Kids love to throw stuff in the fire. This is a universal fact. Why not give them something that turns the flames rainbow coloured?
Table Cloth Clips
Cheap to buy and will last a lifetime, these clips keep your tablecloth earthbound instead of being lifted to the stratosphere by a sudden gust of wind.
Headlamp
If we had to pick one must-have camping item, a headlamp would be it. Even in non-camping life, we use them for reading in bed, fixing things and finding our way.
Mini Bike-pump
No one loves a flat tire when you’re miles from the campsite with a toddler (yup, that’s happened to us). A mini bike-pump gives you the best change of getting back on two wheels
RV Journal
This is the journal the RV Canucks use, and we love it! Inside the front cover is a colouring page of North America that lets you fill in the places you’ve been. Lots of good info to remember everything about your favourite places.
Water Pressure Regulator
See, our episode on RV Essentials for the full list of essential items, but a water pressure regulator is right up there for gadgets that can help prevent costly repairs on your rig.
Water Bandit
If you’ve ever arrived at a dump station where the end of the hose has been cut off, preventing you from using your internal black tank flush – this is the item you want and need in your life.
Rolls of Quarters (and/or Loonies)
Laundry can be expensive, and still in a lot of places requires quarters or loonies to get the job done. Rolls of quarters (and Loonies for our Canadians) make a great stocking stuffer for RV lovers.
Bike Pouch
From phones, to keys to maps, a bike pouch gives you the option to travel light when hitting the trails. We absolutely insist on them for all our bikes.
Amazon Gift Cards
When you just can’t decide on the right gift for the RV owner in your life – let them choose! Amazon gift cards are among my absolutely favourite things to gift (and get) from those in my life.
